"I don’t want to leave this place, I don’t want to go away, I want to stay right here, with you, my King. Find me loving and leaning my head on your chest, to hear your heart. I don’t want to leave this place, I don’t want to go away, I want to stay right here, with you, my King."
These are song lyrics from a recent worship song that Jason has written. That is truly our hearts desire; to delight in the Lord, to abide (dwell, live) in the shadow of the Almighty. Worship can only come from a revelation of who God is. To quote Mike Bickle, ’it takes God to love God’. I believe that when we daily begin to meditate on the word that it becomes 1st nature for His praise to continually be on our lips. The word brings light. It cleanses our worldly train of thought and retrains us to hear the Spirit crying out to us, ’come, unto me all who are heavy laden and I’ll give you rest’. The Lord delights in us and in return delights in our delight of Him. When asked what surprised him most about being a new father, a famous actor replied, ’I guess it would have to be my delight in bondage’. He went on to explain although he used to be foot loose and fancy free, he can no longer travel light, but the trade off is priceless. I pondered on this for days. It so reminded me of our being set free from sin by the redemption of Christ, yet we return to Him, bowing in worship, pouring out our hearts, and freely becoming his ’bond servant’. Not that I loved Him first, but that first He loved me. The Apostle Paul says in 1Corin 9:19 though he be free from all men, yet he made himself a servant to all, that he might win more… this is truly delight in bondage.
